“Baby Blues” II 30×30 canvas, and all of our original oil paintings are created in my studio on Cape Cod. Cape Cod is famous for its particularly radiant light and magnificent landscapes, seascapes and quaint harbors. Home to thousands of artists, Cape Cod has earned its reputation as a location for artists and collectors of fine art. From the tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown to the bridges, creating and collecting art is a way of life.
Baby Blues II
I seem to have a fixation, actually it’s bordering on an obsession, with hydrangeas. Their big, beautiful, fluffy heads of color ranging from my favorite blazing blue to delicate pinks and mauves are to me, the sign of full-blown summer. I love to paint these gorgeous flowering plants during the winter when the wind is howling and I’m huddled up in my studio painting, trying to survive cold weather. It serves me far better than a martini in front of the fireplace, although that’s also a grand antidote to winter, my least favorite time of year. I had the honor of being chosen as the signature artist for the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival last year. It’s worth the time to attend this Festival and see all of the beautiful gardens that are lovingly maintained by individual owners.
The 3rd Annual Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival will take place July 7-16, 2017!
The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is an annual celebration of the region’s blue, pink, and white signature flowers! This ten day festival’s main attractions are the daily tours of private gardens, each designed and maintained by the individual homeowners and carrying a unique charm. You are sure to enjoy such eclectic spaces, not to mention the good feeling of supporting a variety of local nonprofits.
